I Am Abel Law is incorporating as a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization in 2020 and will be devoted to raising legal scholars that will serve as ambassadors of social justice.
The structure will be very similar to I Am Abel Foundation. Students will be partnered with their own Mentors that are prominent practicing lawyers. They will also he partnered with current law students.
Key to all I AM ABEL FOUNDATION programs is our focus on service. As such, I AM ABEL LAW will feature unique service opportunities in areas of social justice and reform. Students will serve in programs that may include important work like the Innocence Project, Environmental Health Advocacy and countless other programs that support social justice reform and provide resources for those less fortunate
The scales of justice are not balanced in education, medicine, law or life. I Am Abel Foundation is extremely happy to support the birth of I Am Abel Law, lead by Founder and Executive Director, Christian A. Conway, Esq who is also a Cook County Assistant State Attorney. African Americans comprise 15% of the population while only 5% of all practicing attorneys. I Am Abel Law will be filling in this gap and creating opportunity for future leaders in law because representation matters.
