Martin Luther King Day Activities

There will be special Martin Luther King Day activities at Rush University Medical Center:

Monday, January 21, 2019, 8:30am - 3pm

You have been invited to spend Martin Luther King Day with the medical students of Rush Medical College where you can participate in a number of service opportunities and specially designed activities.

Dr. LaMenta Sweetie Conway will be the keynote speaker for the event. This activity is intended for high school and college students throughout Chicago and metro area!

High School students can participate in the viewing of "The Hate U Give" followed by luck and a panel discussion. There will also be a college fair. Colleges that have signed up include Notre Dame, northeastern, UIC, Northwestern, Rush College of Nursing and more!

Closing out a FULL Day of MLK Activities, You have also been invited to a special showing of "THE AREA" which will begin at 5pm

This special showing will be followed by a panel discussion afterwards.

THE AREA is a five year odyssey of a South Side Chicago Neighborhood, where more than 400 African American families are being displaced by a multibillion dollar freight company.

But there is ONE homeowner who vows to be the last home standing

Both the morning and evening activities require that you PRE-REGISTER.
