A big thanks to Rush University M-4, Lindsay Friedman, her Co-Chair, Jaina Lane, a 3rd year medical student from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and a host of surgeons, medical students and volunteers, that hosted the "Association of Women Surgeons 2020 Virtual Suture and Mentorship Workshop on Saturday, October 3rd 2020!

The Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) seek to ENGAGE current and future women surgeons to realize their professional and personal goals. They also seek to EMPOWER women to succeed and to EXCEL in those aspirations through mentorship, education and a networking community that promotes their contributions and achievements as students, surgeons and leaders.

Saturday, October 3rd 2020, several of our 2020 High School mentees had the privilege to participate in this awesome event designed for students underrepresented in medicine. I Am Abel Foundation would like to thank the workshop leaders for this amazing virtual event and for inviting our students to join in. The kids loved it. We know that you will continue to do this important work. As we say at the foundation, "What do you do when you've been blessed?" You pass it on! Thank you for being a wedge in the door so that others may follow. Thank you to your incredible team for such an impactful workshop!
