Christmas in Review!

Updated: May 19, 2021

I Am Abel Foundation had a phenomenal Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 19th that hosted over 100 attendees including our amazing mentees, local medical students and a host of Physician Volunteers and Mentors and Instructors! Our students shared moments of gratitude and we enjoyed fun games of Jeopardy all in the Christmas spirit. The Breast Cancer Jeopardy Charity Team won our Jeopardy game and I Am Abel Foundation will make a donation on their behalf of Breast Cancer Survivors. After our party, we launched our first ever SMALL GROUP LEARNING Initiative which was a huge hit. Student testimonials have been pouring in and students really believe they learn best in small groups. As a result we will be adding small group learning to our 2021 Curriculum.

I Am Abel Foundation was excited to gift each of our participating students Christmas gifts that they all opened under our virtual Christmas tree! The gifts include everything from provocative books like the "New Jim Crow," to riveting publications like the "Death Gap - How Inequality Kills." Students all received stethoscopes and a host of other gifts all in the spirit of their future careers in medicine. You might ask, how did they receive their gifts? Well, that was the great gift giveaway that occured all over the city thanks to our amazing Santas. Meet the Grinch and see how she worked her holiday gift giving magic. Check out the video now
