Dr. Ashley Winfield is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, Assistant Director of the Cook County Health Simulation Center, and the founder and current chair of the Cook County Department of Emergency Medicine Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

Dr. Winfield earned her Master of Science in Public Health from the Tulane University School of Public Health and medical degree from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then went on to complete her residency at Cook County Health where she served as chief resident and completed a fellowship in medical simulation.

Dr. Winfield has an interest in increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in medicine and uses her expertise in simulation to bridge educational gaps for students from underrepresented backgrounds interested in medicine and to expose youth to careers in medicine.
