SAFFRON LITTLE, PhD

Saffron Little earned her B.S. in Chemistry and M.A. in Biology from Fisk University, and her Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from the University of Michigan, where she investigated molecular motors to better understand their roles in neurological diseases. Saffron is now based in her hometown of Chicago as an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the Chicago Biomedical Consortium through Northwestern University, where she helps translate academic research into real-world biomedical solutions.

A dedicated advocate for science education and equity, Saffron has led outreach and mentorship programs for middle school students during her time in Tennessee and Michigan. Through museum visits and cultural exploration, she finds joy in passing on her love of science to her young niece, nurturing curiosity and wonder in the next generation.
